“Give a man a fish and you feed
him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
~ Chinese Proverb
If a weight loss plan is based predominantly
on pre-packaged meals, all the plan gives you is a temporary
crutch. You may lose weight on it, no doubt. But what if the
company goes out of business? Or what if you simply get sick
of its limited choices? What have you learned? What will you
do to keep losing or maintaining your weight?
For consistent, long-term results, find a program
that will:
• Help you develop healthy eating habits
and food choices, based on real foods, not pre-packaged meals.
• Guide you in engaging in adequate
and safe physical activities that are suitable for both your
physical condition and your budget.
• Teach you to practice effective stress
management as well as healthy sleeping habits and work/rest
balance.
• Help you develop self esteem and
a positive attitude towards yourself, other people, and your
environment.
These are all important aspects of losing weight
in a healthy manner, and then keeping it off.
It’s OK if the program offers some optional
“on the go” pre-packaged meals or snacks as long
as you’re not expected to replace real food with them.
