Having a fitness buddy, an accountability partner,
a support group, or an online user forum is great and can
considerably boost your success rate just by keeping you motivated.
However, if you don’t have a weight management expert
to guide you, you might not always be going in the right direction.
A good weight management program offers support
from specially trained individuals. Not just someone who had
succeeded in the program, but rather someone who both knows
the ins and outs of the program and has the background knowledge
on nutrition, fitness, stress management, and other related
issues.
Having an expert like that just an email or
a phone call away can give you a significant advantage. One
should be available to you at least at the beginning, while
you are still learning the basics.
Ideally, you’ll be able to wean yourself
off of your weight management consultant’s guidance
after two or three months. But in a good program, a dedicated
consultant will remain available to you indefinitely just
in case you ever have a question.
