Grass, flowers, fruit trees, vegetables and all other plants need nutrients to grow lush and healthy. The nutrients come from the soil — but all soil is not equal. If your lawn, garden or orchard sits above a layer of clay or other compacted soil, it can be very difficult for your plants to develop sufficient root systems.
